Thankful for American ragtime and German and Italian traditions, the Moraine Valley Orchestra, led by Maryann Flock, celebrates the birthdays of composer Scott Joplin (156), German opera singer Lillie Lehmann (175), and the memorial anniversary of Italian composer Puccini (100) in their Fall concert. Audiences will delight in the various sounds of Germanic and Italian singing, as well as, listen to the old but new dance craze – the Cakewalk, a high-steppin’ promenade meant to show off your “Sunday best”. Join the MVO, in this grateful-as-always festive afternoon of everything but the turkey trot.
