The Moraine Valley Community College Foundation follows the Donor Bill of Rights developed in accordance with the standards established by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. To ensure that our philanthropic efforts earn the respect and trust of our donors and provide full confidence to our donors and prospective donors, the Foundation adheres to the following donor bill of rights where the donor has the right:
- To be informed of the MVCC Foundation’s mission, of the way the MVCC Foundation intends to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes
- To be informed of the identity of those serving on the Moraine Valley Foundation’s Board of Directors, and to expect the Board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities
- To have access to the Moraine Valley Foundation’s most recent financial statements
- To be assured their gifts will be used for the general purposes for which they were given
- To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition
- To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect, and, if requested, with confidentiality to the extent provided by law
- To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from the Moraine Valley Foundation’s mailing lists
- To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers
